Beer Butt Chicken 2/365
>> Friday, February 12, 2010
My coke butt chicken, they turned a little black but they were good! I don’t recommend a glass baking dish when doing this. And next time I’ll line my pan with aluminum foil to make clean up easier.
Recipe:
1 whole chicken 4-5 pounds
1 can of coke or beer…I don’t drink so I use coke.
Rub chicken with BBQ sauce or seasoning of your choice. Open your can of coke and drink about 1/3 of the can. Place the can inside the cavity of the chicken. Place the chicken on a baking sheet using the legs of the chicken as a tripod. Bake in a preheated oven at 375° for 1 ½-2 hours or until the chicken reaches an internal temp of 180°. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
Tips: I have also baked at 350° successfully!
